Yes scratches will still be visible to the eye but not to the players laser reader. Fixity Disc works by smoothing the edges of a scratch which would otherwise cause the players lens to bounce its laser erratically. Some deep scratches or heavy scuff marks may not be repairable by Fixity Disc but can often be professionally repaired at your local video store for around $5 per disc.
Be sure you position the disc properly with the red arrow on the disc facing toward the machine. If the problem still occurs your players' lens reader may not be in the most common position so try rotating the disc slightly 20 degrees once or twice. If this still does not work but you can hear the disc spin you will find that the cleaning will have occurred through the attempted loading process without the playing, you should remove the cleaning disc wait 2-3 minutes for drying and insert a regular disc for testing.

Safe listening time is the recommended time you can be exposed to sound at certain levels without causing permanent and irreversible damage to your hearing. Generally noise is considered excessive when you must use a raised voice or shout in order to be able to speak to someone at an arm's length. No matter your past listening habits or the condition of you current hearing it is important to note that a hearing impairment does not make you less susceptible to further damage caused by high noise; it is critical to protect the hearing you have. Listening at high levels will only make your hearing worse.
